Less Wrong Vs More Right

Less Wrong Vs More Right

I've noticed a strange obsession amongst many of my peers.

They're always interested in being less wrong.

However, if you train an entire society in the ideals of less wrong, most people would simply stop trying to be right.

After all, performing actions carries the risk of doing wrong.

For example, Let us imagine two societies/companies/families:

1) Company A: Idealizes Less Wrong

2) Company B: Idealizes More Right

Company A rarely sees conflict. Company A reveres and promotes its critics. Because they propagate the system. And critics can do no wrong.

Company B goes through continuous turmoil. Company B reveres and promotes its actors. Because actors keep changing the system. And actors keep discovering what is right.

Which of these 2 companies will win in the long run?

Technology, time, and people keep changing.

But the principles of your organization rarely change.
